ASSAULT WEAPONS BAN: HB2024-1292

It’s nonsense to me, but perhaps someone can explain why the Democrats at the state house seek to disarm the most law-abiding citizens in Colorado by outlawing certain types and calibers and features of the most popularly sold guns in America. This is in leu of incarcerating actual criminals so they can’t commit crimes. The only reasons I can think of are:

Criminals will obey this new law, give up their guns, not commit any more crimes, and become good citizens ever-more, which is of course ludicrous.
Some portion of law-abiding citizens will obey this new law and that somehow will reduce the number of guns available to be stolen by criminals, which again is ludicrous, and it makes the world a more dangerous place, and criminalizes otherwise law-abiding citizens.
This is simply a charade by the Democrats to show their shallow thinking constituents that they are “doing something” even if it’s wrong, unconstitutional, and counter-productive.
Some have even suggested that this is simply an attempt to begin the process of disarming everyone, turning us from citizens into subjects that are easily controlled. Surely this can’t be their thinking, can it?

At this same time, Denver is cutting $8.4 million out of police budgets to give to illegal aliens, thereby increasing the danger level to all citizens on the front range, while simultaneously attempting to make us all more vulnerable.

On 4/14 The house voted 35-27 to pass this bill with all Republicans voting against it, and surprisingly 9 Democrats also opposing it.

If you ever want to protect yourself and your loved ones in Colorado, you need to call your State Senators and Representatives and voice your objections to having your 2^nd amendment rights eliminated.

CD5 Assembly Hand Count VOLUNTEER POSITIONS

BALLOT DISTRIBUTION AFTER CREDENTIALLING: (8 volunteers)

Eight volunteers are assigned to four CD 5 Ballot Distribution tables to distribute ballots to properly credentialed delegates. They will mark each delegate’s badge and each ballot as they distribute the ballots.

BALLOT BOX ATTENDANTS: (18 volunteers)

Ballot Box teams attend the clear ballot boxes while Delegate’s cast their ballots. They keep count of the ballots being cast and mark Delegate’s badges as having cast their ballots. They will also take the ballot box to a tally table and batch the ballots for the teams there.

TALLY TEAMS: (36 volunteers)

There are 12 Tally Judge Teams of 3 persons each, comprised of two Tally Judges and one Reader. Two teams of three share opposite ends of a six-foot table; both teams work from one dedicated clear ballot box. The reader reads the name of the candidate which received votes and the Tally Judge marks the vote on their tally sheet. Two identical tally sheets are created this way, and they are compared for accuracy.

RUNNERS: (6 volunteers)

A Runner is assigned to each Tally table. Runners deliver completed bundled ballots and tally sheets from the tally tables to the Judges’ tables and then to the totals table. Runners encourage other workers to remain in their positions for duration of the count.

JUDGES TABLE: (12 volunteers)

Four more Judge teams of three persons each, comprised of two Tally Judges and one Reader, are assigned to two tables. Again, the two teams share opposite ends of each table. Runners deliver completed tally sheets and ballot batches to the Judges Table for processing the odd and even numbered stacks. Each table Judges half the total count.

TOTALS TABLE: (4 volunteers)

The Totals Judges are at the last table of the process. This is where runners deliver processed bundles of tally sheets and ballots for the Judges to determine the final vote. They complete the Teller Committee Chairman’s report for announcement to the assembly.

WATCHERS: (10 volunteers )

Specifically appointed by each candidate to watch the election process to assure accuracy.
