Dear CRC Executive Committee Members,

Congratulations on your election or appointment to one of the most influential committees in the state of Colorado.  I’m Peg Cage, a former EC member, former Chairman of Boulder County Republicans, and current Bonus Member for BCR.

My focus has been on Election Integrity for many years.  The following quote has long motivated me, and this year it has been proven true:

“It is enough that the people know there was an election. The people who cast the votes decide nothing. The people who count the votes decide everything.”
Whether correctly attributed to Joseph Stalin or not, the quote aptly reminds us that if we wish to control our government, we must control elections.  Many people in Colorado are realizing the severity of the problems we face now that America’s elections have been proven untrustworthy.

I believe it’s important for the GOP to lead Colorado back to honest elections by setting the example within our own organization.  I hope you will make and pass a motion to repeal the Emergency Bylaws immediately rather than waiting until they expire in December.  If repealed, the State Central Committee Meeting would be held in person as according to our Bylaws and tradition, rather than online with questionable electronic voting.

Here’s a suggested motion:
I move that this Executive Committee repeals the 2021 Emergency Bylaws immediately, as provided in the COLORADO REPUBLICAN STATE CENTRAL COMMITTEE 2021 EMERGENCY BYLAWS, #15.

Points of discussion:

The Colorado GOP needs to show bold leadership in Election Integrity.   A survey/petition https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/S5NMWDR showed that all but three of the 156 respondents voted “Yes” to question #1, “A Yes vote indicates that I am in favor of meeting in-person for the State GOP Central Committee meeting on March 27, 2021.”  All but seven of the 156 respondents voted “Yes” to question #2, “A Yes vote indicates that I am in favor of paper ballots, in lieu of electronic, as the form of voting in the State GOP Central Committee meeting on March 27, 2021.”  Ninety-five of the 155 respondents are voting members of the State Central Committee.  (More information about the survey/petition is at https://mycoloradogop.org).

The Colorado GOP needs to show bold leadership in the process of reopening Colorado.  The Republican Governor of South Dakota and the Republican County Commissioners of Weld County are national and local heroes for treating their citizens with respect and allowing them to make their own health decisions, as they have through every flu season.  Our people need Republicans to be heroes.  Heroes get more votes.

The GOP must no longer allow the Democrats to run roughshod over every aspect of our lives with their tyrannical laws and dictates.

The government-forced lockdowns, mask mandates, and “social distancing” have all been detrimental to the physical and mental health of the citizens whose rights their governments were supposed to have secured.

The damages to personal and state-wide economies are incalculable, and must stop now.

The mandates have “no legal effect,” according to the Weld County Attorney Bruce Barker.  (See page three of the Attorney's Memorandum at the bottom of this page.)

Even under the GOP Emergency Bylaws, “Critical Government Functions may continue to operate without capacity limitations.” See below:

2021 EMERGENCY BYLAW #5 – REQUIREMENTS FOR IN-PERSON ONLY MEETINGS
“Critical Government Function” exemption from public health requirements under Section IV(D)(13) of CDPHE Fourth Amended Public Health Order 20-36 issued January 4, 2021 - “Activities related to federal, state, and local elections, including any required acts of a political party, provided Distancing Requirements are observed to the greatest extent possible.” https://sjbpublichealth.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/FourthAmended20-36.010421.pdf

Fourth Amended Public Health Order 20-36 COVID-19 DIAL
January 4, 2021
APPENDIX A: CRITICAL BUSINESSES
12. Vendors that Provide Critical Services or Products, Including Logistics and Technology Support, Child Care and Services: Critical Government Functions.
SECTION II. COVID-19 DIAL LEVELS.
LEVELS GREEN, YELLOW, AND ORANGE: “Critical Government Functions may continue to operate without capacity limitations.”

Thank you for considering this motion.  I look forward to working with you all to save Colorado.

Sincerely,

Peg Cage
