Subject: Burning Our House Down
If the SCC votes to forgo the primary, the caucus will nominate candidates who cannot win, especially in suburban Denver.
Members of the SCC,
We’re about to set our own house on fire. If the SCC votes to forgo the primary, the caucus will nominate candidates who cannot win, especially in suburban Denver.
Do not be fooled by those who continue to complain about so-called “weak Republicans” in these swing districts. Such people are not the gatekeepers of the Republican party – the voters are.
And while through this resolution they may be able to silence voters in the primary, they cannot in the general election. And Republicans will lose. We will lose up and down the ballot.
If you want to win in 2022, cast your vote in opposition to opting out of the primary.
Certainly, there are problems with the open primary. I opposed proposition 108, but if you want to change the primary system, let’s do it through the court, not by burning our house down.
Best,
