Debate General Ground Rules
PARTICIPANTS HAVE AGREED TO THE FOLLOWING:
(Accommodations for the absence of a pro-Gold Standard Participant are in parenthesis.)
1. Participants will not be allowed to use prepared notes or props during the debate. Each Participant will be provided with a legal pad and pens for taking notes during the debate. Two bottles of water will be on the table for each candidate.
2. No advertising/position supporting materials (e.g., handbills, literature, banners, signs, candidate t-shirts, etc.) will be allowed in the debate hall.
3. Participants will be responsible for their own dress and appearance. Participants will provide their own makeup. A makeup area will be provided.
4. There will be no audience reaction shots during the debate, although panning of the audience before and after the debate will be allowed. Camera holders caught filming audience during the debate will be removed from the building. (This will be relaxed if there’s no Pro-Gold Standard Participant.)
5. Participants will be introduced initially by title/full name (i.e., Governor XXXX; Representative XXXX). Thereafter, "Mr." and/or "Ms." will be used.
6. Participants will remain in their seats at the table during the debate.
7. During the debate, Participants will not be allowed to interrupt one another. The moderator may need to interrupt if a response exceeds the allotted time. Hosts reserve the right to cut the mic for unruly conduct or exceeding allotted time. (This will be relaxed if there’s no Pro-Gold Standard Participant.)

9. Video and Audio recording is allowed, and recordings may be used at the discretion of the media owner.
